Welcome to my Canada Day page everyone. What an adventure I had. I had such a wonderful day. You just won't believe your eyes when you see me having a special ride.                                                                                                                                                        Katie

Mommy and I wanted Daddy to have a special day. He needs to have some smiles and some fun. But what? Where? What could we do.? Mommy and I had a talk when all of a sudden Mommy said "I know Katie, I know just where we can take Daddy that does not have too much walking and will be fun. You will like it too. You will do something you have never done before." Mommy didnt tell me what it was. She said it was a surprise for me too. I like surprises.

We had a nice lunch then off we set. Can you see me on my special shelf in the car, and look I have my Canada flag flying to celebrate the day. After all I am a

Off we set everyone happy to be going on an adventure. The day was beautiful 85F with a nice breeze. Just perfect. We saw this garden and wondered what those ball crowned flowers are. We drove for quite awhile. Our city was getting further away and we were going through beautiful farm country.

Mommy told us we are almost there. I started to watch for clues. As we turned a corner I saw this sign.

Could it be? Am I right?  A strawberry festival??? Oh boy I hope so. I sure like the sound of that. Mommy is slowing down. She asks a nice policeman where is the handicapped parking so Daddy does not have to walk too far. He moves the gate closing the road and let's us drive right down to the main section and park there. Wasn't that nice of him? :-)

I got out of the car and into my stroller. We were going to walk around a little to check out what was where. Mommy laughs and says it is a good thing they are not walking to far because  everytime we go a few steps we stop again. Everyone wants to see and talk to the pretty parrot. That's me you know.

Soon I saw this big thing, big and noisy..It was saying swooooooosssssssssssssssssssh, ding ding woooooooooooohooooooooooooooooooooo, toot toot.

Wow, it is our surprise. We are going on a train ride.  Trains sure look big. Much bigger than my car.

We had to run fast to the station house to see if we could get tickets. It was almost time for the train to leave.

1) The engine man said I was the 1st parrot    to ever ride on his train 2) He helped lift me in. Those steps are really    deep. 3) See me in my seat. I am looking out my              window. 4) Lots of people are getting on the train.

The conductor man came for tickets, he asked if I had mine.                    Yup I sure did.                             I liked the way cars had to stop for us.                                                                                                           (He Laughed because I was free.)

The train engineer invited Daddy and I to see his big engine. He had to help me back down the steps. The train ride is a little more than an hour through the country side and hills

We decided to go and buy my strawberries before they were all gone. They had really nice green peas in the pod so we got a basket of them too.

I really surprised this young man. He said he would hold the peas and Mommy the strawberries while Daddy took the picture. Can you see what I did? Can ya, can ya? I stuck my beak out and grabbed a pea and pulled it through my bars. The man laughed and laughed. He said I was a funny girl. He gave me extra baskets to bring home to have for toy baskets.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. When we were on the train a family came by and said "Oh my look at the pretty budgie" Budgie? They called me a budgie. No offense meant to budgies they are beautiful little birds, but, me a budgie..Hummph!!!! . I was just getting over the shock and what  happens. Another group came by my seat and said "Ohhhhhhhhh look at the pretty budgie" Can you believe that? Twice in a matter of 5 minutes.

Mommy bought a new bird house from here.                        ssssssssssssshe don't tell but for dinner I had a hamburger and strawberries

Not too long after dinner we headed home. Everyone was getting tired from our fun day. Mommy said I was such a good girl I could have a special treat. We had a popcorn party.

Pardon me? Did I hear you say messy girl :-) I am not messy, I am just enthusiastic about popcorn.

Just before nite nites I said "Thank you for a fun day Mommy"

All of the above was on Saturday. Today Sunday which is actually Canada Day we went to Newmarket where Bill's girlfriend lives and saw some of their celebrations. Somewhat the same so just a few candid shots from there.

We left and came back down so we could go to the parade put on by Scarborough were we live. Mommy says that is a  mega load of pictures so she will put them on our photo site one day soon. Here is just one to show you I went to a parade.
