Thank you all..

The first picture shows you my stroller with me in my adventure pack.   My Stroller came from Petsmart.
The second picture shows you the screening Mommy made for me so those skeeters, buzzy bees and other flying creatures cannot bite me.
The third shows you the clear plastic cover Mommy made me for times when it might be a bit chilly, breezy or if a sudden downpour came.

A little preamble..
On May 4th, 2007 something bad attacked my Daddy's heart. He was in  2 different hospitals for a long time and had a scary operation.  I missed him so much. Daddy and I like to talk to each other and he always has lots of treats for me. The good news is Daddy came home on May 24th. He was alot better than he was but has a long way to go. One of the things he has to do is walk. Walk, walk, walk. I like to walk and go strolling so I thought "I can help my Daddy - I can take him strolling and help make him smile." Hereafter follows the places I have taken Daddy .....

May 24th

Daddy's home and I am so excited...........
For the first few days Daddy just walked in the house. He walked all around the house from the front to the back to the front to the back. He kept walking right by my cage. Everytime he would pass me Daddy said "Hi Katie" I am very polite so I always replied Hellooooooooooo..but honestly between you and me I was really thinking Daddy had lost it..What on earth was he doing.???

May 31st
Finally the day came that Daddy was strong enough to be able to go outside. Here are Daddy and I ready for our first stroll. We only went for 5 minutes but it was a start.
Before we go any further let me tell you about my stroller

Daddy cannot go very far and has to be slow and easy other wise he starts to puff and puff..You should hear him. He sounds just like a train chugging up a steep hill. Today I thought we could stop and smell the roses. We didn't find any roses blooming yet but we found some other pretty flowers.

Some days Daddy is just not feeling strong enough to walk. On those days my brothers, Mr. Tuxedo & Lil Lord Stanley, and I sit on the verandah with him. Daddy has to keep his special heart  pillow with him. They gave it to him in the Cardio Vascular Intensive Care Unit to use if he coughs, which he does lot, because it helps to hug the pillow, It does not hurt as much. When we are sitting resting, getting warm sun on our feathers, we watch Mr. and Mrs. Sparrow taking care of their babies
June 11th
On our last walk we looked for pretty flowers. Today we are looking for birdie friends. Do you know when I see and hear the birds I call "Big black bird" They are all big black birds. :-)
The little bird in my human brothers hand, Bill, we saw just laying on the ground. He seemed all bewildered and stunned. Bill picked him up and cuddled him till he felt better and then he put him on a big branch in our evergreen tree where he could stay till he felt good enough to fly again.
June 13th
Look everyone. I had to be really brave today. It was very hot in our city so we could not go for our walk until night time. Can you see the lights are on. It is after 9 PM and I am still outside. I was talking to the neighbours and watching all the pretty lights come on. Everything sure looks different in the dark time.
June 20th
Today we decided to do some gardening in our back yard. Mommy gardened, Daddy helped a little and I, of course supervised the whole thing. My doggie did something I thought was very funny.
At first I was not sure so -
Where's Katie ?
tehehe I was hiding under my hood because there were water droplets falling on me. It felt like I was going to have a bath. I didn't want a bath and I wondered where they were coming from and what was happening.
1) Well I will tell you...there I was having a peaceful time sunning in my backyard and supervising the garden when all of a sudden,,,this long green snake like thing came out...it spouts water in the air...my woof woof (Chimo) just went nuts..he was running in the water, barking, flinging himself about AND splashing water on me...SO...I went and hid under my hood..
2) but after a little bit I started to get real curious and thought I would come and yell too..
3) I was shooting WOOF WOOF...wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee WOOF WOOF and found out it really is fun to watch doggie even if it means I get splashed a little bit..My oh my what an exciting afternoon I had.
Don't I look
very official
keeping
track of
everything.
I take my
tasks
seriously
you know.
Look what I spied. It is my Pumpkin growing..WoooooHoooooo
The seeds were sent to me by my friend Jody in Florida so I could have my very own pumkins this year. I love pumkin.
June 18th - A very special day -
we came home and found a surprise in the birds feeder box which hangs on our front verandah railing.
Frick and Frack
Scroll your mouse over my picture
to see who my babies are.
Yes, It is 2 baby raccoons. They seem to have gotten lost from their Mommy. We fed them the first day and night hoping Mom would show up when it got dark. Sadly in the morning we saw she had not. Mommy then called lots of resuce places and no one would take them. They all said they had no room in the Inn. One lady was very nice though and told her what we could feed them and how to best help them. We have named them Frick and Frack and we hope they will be OK, but that's another story for another page..
June 22nd
Today we came home and found someone else in our bird feeder box. Isn't he the cutest little fellow? I am seeing so many wonderful sights on my walks. I bet your birdie would like to go for walks too.
June 23rd
Daddy is starting to feel stronger so we decided we could walk as far as the park just down our street a little way.
Daddy took me
for a swing on
the baby swing.
But I said
No, No Daddy
I am a big girl
and I want to
swing with Mommy.
June 25th - A special day this is Daddy's 1st outing away from our neighbourhood.

June 27th
It is very hot and humid at my house today so Mommy thought it best that we
go somewhere where for the most part we would be indoors.  We drove to the
place and got a big surprise. They were tearing up the driveway
and parking lot so you had to park way down the street.
Good thing I have my stroller. It was OK till we got to the parking lot when my
oh my you should have seen all the big machinery things I never saw before,
and loud. Wow do these "big trucks" make alot of noise. I had to stroll right
through the middle of them all to get to the building. I was looking around
but I was not afraid. Mommy kept saying it's OK Katie just "big trucks" When we got inside Mommy said you were such a brave girl Katie. That sure was noisy and I said "Whewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww".
Once we walked into the building we decided to play a trick.
Daddy and I went out the back door to the patio garden and walked around to my Grandma's window. Mommy went to Grandma's room.
When she got there Daddy tapped on the window and Mommy said look who is peeking in your window. Grandma was so surprised. She came to the window and was talking to me and she was smiling really big. We like to make Grandma smile.
We went inside.
Of course everyone wanted
to talk to me.This is my
Grandma, one of her nurses and her friend who
lives in the same room..
Grandma wanted to take me for a walk. Back outside we went for a little while..:-)
UH - OH - Danger Alert
Mommy had to quick fast
take me back and walk the
other way. Can you see why?
Here I am in the garden
with Grandma & another
one of her friends.
Look where we had to walk to get
back to our car. Right beside all those cars going so fasssssssssssssssT.
Was I scared?
No, No Not me.
I am a very brave girl.
Mommy tells me "It's Ok Katie" and I
know everything is Ok.
Todays outing was very hot, lots of noise and big things to see but it was all worthwhile cause it made my Grandma happy to see me. She wants me to come and live there with her. Mommy said I cannot do that. whew! but I will come and visit her again soon. Oh, did I mention Grandma shared cherries with me. :-)
June 29th
The last couple of days have been quite warm and we decided we really needed to do a little housework before the upcoming holiday weekend. We have not been on any outings other than around the neighbourhood. We have had a very special thing take place in our home today so I made a picture to mark the date..
Li'l Lord Stanley is our wonderful
Blue Pacific Parrotlet. He
absolutely adores his big sister
Katie and is always flying to her cage.
Katie is as gentle as can be with him
and has never gone after him even
though at times he has gone right
through her bars into her cage. Of
course we are always in the room when they are out at the same time and take him away immediately.
For quite sometime Katie has been saying
"Stanley kishes - kishes Stanley XXX (kissing sound). Today for the first time Stanley was calling "Kishes Katie kishes" XXX. She was replying.
It was absolutely the sweetest thing to
listen to them.. Her with her strong clear voice and he with his soft robotic voice.
Katie is 4 years old. 12" and 454 grams
Stanley is 11 months, 4" and 28 grams  :-)
